Laurence D Skelly - Managing Director

Born and raised on the Isle of Man Laurence began his travel and tourism career for Group & Conference Travel in 1978. After emigrating to San Diego, California in 1985 he founded his own travel company that enjoyed great success and became one of the top 200 independent travel companies in the United States. The $28 million multi-faceted operation handled both retail and wholesale group travel movements. For 5 years his company represented Isle of Man Department of Tourism for North America. In 2000 Laurence returned to the Island and acted as consultant on some of the Island’s most successful websites. In addition he project manages the enhancements for Isle of Man National Day – Tynwald Day. Destination Isle of Man Limited was founded with Terry Toohey in 2005.

Terry is a tourism professional with nearly 40 years experience that began in South Africa. During his time in South Africa he was involved in a number of activities and held a number of positions, including the Executive Director of Tourism for the City of Durban for 10 years and was voted Marketing Man of Year by the Institute of Marketing Management. Terry's direct involvement in major events included being Executive Director of Durban Expo 85 and he also initiated and was the Director of The Durban Military Tattoo.

Moving to the Isle of Man in 1986 Terry became the Chief Executive of the Isle of Man Government Department of Tourism where he held overall responsibility for all Tourism, Leisure and Public Transport activities on the Island till 2004 when he took early retirement after 18 years in the post. This included the annual world famous TT motorcycle Festival and many other large events and activities. Currently Terry is Chairman of Cruise UK, Director of Cruise development for Cumbria Tourist Board, a Council Member of Cruise Europe, Non- Executive Director of Sleepwell Hotels, and was the Director/Producer of Isle of Man Tattoo of 2005.

Aubrey has for the last 17 years been involved with a wide variety of Events from: - Company Launches, Corporate Dinners, Awards Evenings, Catch a Million Fishing Competitions, World Sailing Championships, Vodacom Beach Africa ( the biggest beach festival in the world ), Television Market Days for Children, The Sun City Extravaganza, Clipper Around the World Yacht Race 2005/06, A1 GP in Durban South Africa and a host of other events both in South Africa and Internationally.

He has specialized in giving his clients the total package i.e. from conception of the event right through to completion: - design - permits - liaison with the authorities (including City or Government departments) -Project management - running within budgets - media etc. etc.

It is his desire to take all the skills and experience gained in running these varied events over the years and to place them firmly on the international scene. He has a wide variety of hobbies which include yachting, aviation, motor sport, golf and writing.
